Tent

Screams from the ice-cliff
hideous wind incisors
slice arching knife edge blocks
above my arctic tent
restrained uncertainly by rocks
where I feign sleep
in whitened darkness

but then --
a murmur of feathers
some light cursing
at the limited tent space
and a glow as warm as song
announce an angel’s presence
and his strong arms
gather me
where I can drink his hot tears
and, soothed by his rythmic pulse
tenderly evaporate
like breath
