At your door (Smile poem)

At your doorstep
large and square
a handful of drifted leaves
curl in the step’s corner
finding shelter

although I hesitate
an open door and simple mat
need no biding
to enter irrevocably, parched ---

you offer water
and your smile ---
I’ll drench in your miracle
abducted --- betrothed --- cherished.
