No blood -
Inside the most empowered muscle
Cell divides

No flood
To inundate the microscopic cell
Or wash aside

New bud
Rooting deeply in the waxing wall
Multiplies

How I will carry you, proud and round
Inhale, delirious, ambrosial newborn scent
Fill completely every suckling need
Til plenty trickles from your small, sweet mouth; and smiles...

Ah, blood.
That speck is snatched away, tomorrow's specter-child -
And motherhood
Once again
