Anorexia

My will is iron
scorn flows from me
poison lava
swallowing the weak: those
wretches who permit
nutrition to enter their mouths
for hunger or
even simply for
pleasure

My will is iron
those fools with their skin like
milk
their fat fingertips like
plums
what do they know of hunger?
They can be nourished
so easily with
food

See my skinny entrails
surrounded by rats
rats who are soft
who express fondness for their families
even their naked suckling babies

I am a rock, an island
my will is iron.
